Pop-Up Dining Brightens Winter Nights

Pop-Up Dining Brightens Winter Nights

January 28, 2019

While some Martha’s Vineyard restaurants close for the winter, or at least part of it, other establishments go out of their way to provide variety for Island diners in these long, dark months.

  • There’s no Indian restaurant here, but lovers of curries and samosas can satisfy their cravings on Tuesday nights at the Barn Bowl & Bistro in Oak Bluffs. Arrive early—chef Shivi Datta’s menu sells out regularly.
  • Indian Night is soon to be joined by the Barn’s first Brazilian Night, Feb. 2, with Brazilian food, music and caipiriñhas.
  • Mondays, the Barn has half-price burgers from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
  • On Wednesday nights, The Ritz in Oak Bluffs has been opening its kitchen to “pop-ups” by guest chefs from some of the Island’s best seasonal restaurants. Dinner starts at 6:30, with music by Johnny Hoy & the Bluefish beginning at 8.
