The Week Ahead: Friday, April 6 through Thursday, April 12, 2018

April 6, 2018

This week Martha’s Vineyard heads into the spring with or without a go-ahead from Mother Nature.  Temperatures and sunny skies may or may not cooperate, but events scheduled for the Week Ahead lure us outdoors with a line-up that include planting parties, and two volunteer clean-ups of areas damaged by the past winter’s many storms.  If you’ve been itching to do ‘spring things,’ all are fun opportunities to meet up with like-minded individuals, get your hands dirty and have the satisfaction of putting things to rights for the season to come. (Even if you have to bundle up to do it!)  Or, engage in some magical thinking and head up to Aquinnah, to celebrate nature’s new year at a traditional Wampanoag ceremonial, complete with music dancing and crafts.   Indoors, music, movies and a presentation of 19th century shipping  warm us up and keep us occupied in the Week Ahead.
