March moves on, bringing with it an increasingly full roster of fun events and activities:  This week, the first of the Island’s St. Patrick’s Day celebrations kicks off in anticipation of the March 17th holiday which also happens to be the day on which the The 16th Annual Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival begins it’s four days of films and fun in Chilmark. At the FARM Institute, the first of the spring lambs have arrived, and, as the days warm, crocuses peak out from last autumns leaves.  Enjoy the Week Ahead!

Dance Party with Johnny Hoy and The Bluefish & Auction Fundraiser

Saturday, March 12
Fifth Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Kelley House and The Newes from America Pub will host the Vineyard’s Fifth Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 12 at 11:30 a.m. Family Dance-O-Rama: St. Pat’s Party too!

Sunday, March 13
Newton Nomadic Theater Performs “Molly Sweeney”
Vineyard Haven Public Library will present a free performance by the Newton Nomadic Theater.

Monday, March 14
“Writers Read” Evening
Share your prose at West Tisbury Library’s “writers read” event. On Monday, March 14th at 7:00pm the West Tisbury Library.

Tuesday, March 15
Poetry Café at the Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse
Hosted by MV Poet Laureate Arnie Reisman who will be joined by poets Rose Styron, Richard Michelson, Nan Byrne, Steve Ewing.

The 16th Annual Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival
Annual 4-day film festival starts today! In addition to great films, the Chilmark festival includes the “Hay Café,” a warm, inviting place to enjoy farm-to-table meals, conversation, and live music.
