And they’re off! The Martha’s Vineyard Marathon, a Boston qualifier, begins this Saturday morning, May 20, at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School at 8:30 a.m. A half-marathon and a two-person half-marathon relay will be run at the same time. To catch a glimpse of the winners, head to Waban Park in Oak Bluffs for the finishes. Later on Saturday, the one-night team-based Fly Rod Striped Bass Catch and Release Tournament begins at 7 p.m. and ends at midnight. And hey, Cape Poge Discovery Tours are back. If you’re up for an oversand adventure, pre-registered tour participants will be picked up this Saturday morning at 9:30 am. on the Chappy side of the Chappy ferry.
But fear not, if all this outdoor sporting activity sounds exhausting, we’ve got great music, films, a new play at the Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse, and much more to do on the Island in the next few days. Read on for some highlights and then discover much more on The Complete Martha’s Vineyard Calendar.
