Downtown or up-Island, it’s all happening this weekend. Vineyard Haven’s “snowy” Winter Wonderland is on for tonight, Christmas in Edgartownevents are happening all weekend, and the Aquinnah Artisans Holiday Fair takes place on Saturday and Sunday. Concerts, films, light shows, markets and more offer holiday fun in every corner of the Island.

Christmas comes to Edgartown during the fortieth annual Christmas in Edgartown holiday weekend – Thursday, December 9 through Sunday, December 12. Perennially popular events include the Lighting of the Edgartown Lighthouse on Friday, December 10 at 6 p.m., the Parade on Saturday, December 11 at 11 a.m. and the Teddy Bear Trot on Sunday, December 12 at 8:30 a.m
Keep the fun times rolling by visiting downtown Vineyard Haven during the ‘Tis the Season – Winter Wonderland event on Thursday, December 9 when Main Street gets a “snowy” makeover from 4 to 6 p.m. and local shops stay open till 7 p.m.
Catch the MVRHS Minnesingers during their annual Holiday Concert at the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown. They will perform on Friday, December 10 at 8 p.m. and on Saturday, December 11 at 4 p.m.
For more holiday classics, David Behnke – baritone – and David Rhoderick – piano – will perform Die Winterreise (Winter Journey) at the First Congregational Church of West Tisbury on Sunday, December 12 from 3 to 4 p.m.
Take a minute to stop by the Oak Bluffs Fire-EMS Station and help Stuff An Ambulance on Saturday, December 11 between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Drop off an unwrapped gift for an Island family in need. Or catch up with Stuff-A-Bus at the foot of Main Street in Edgartown on Saturday, December 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. All toys received from both events will be donated to the Red Stocking Fund.
Trustees of Reservations rangers have spotted snowy owls! Hike the Cape Pogue Wildlife Refuge on Chappaquiddick in search of these beautiful birds on Saturday, December 11 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. during a Snowy Owl Prowl. Advanced registration is required.
