With St. Patrick’s Day so near, the luck of the Irish is abroad on Martha’s Vineyard this weekend. Look for leprechauns at the wee parade in Edgartown, watch for emerald mosses on an arboretum tour and keep your eye out for rainbows as you visit an Island lighthouse. Friday, March 13 | Celebrate women

At Featherstone Center for the Arts in Oak Bluffs, The Numbers Speak for Themselves is a group show of Island artists that’s open daily from noon to 4 p.m. The Invisible Man can be seen at Edgartown Cinemas at 4:15 p.m. and 7 p.m. Women Live, at Pathways in Chilmark, is a multi-media celebration of women in the arts from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.DJ AP entertains at the Cardboard Box from 10 p.m.

Saturday, March 14 | Fresh air

Explore Polly Hill Arboretum in West Tisbury on an hour-long Winter Arboretum Walk starting at 10 a.m. In Edgartown, the Pint-Size Parade & Irish Celebrationstarts at 11:30 a.m. at the Newes from America.From noon to 2 p.m. you can take a Winter Beach Safari from Chappy Point to the Cape Pogue light.The annual Ice Hockey Heroes face-off between Island police and fire personnel begins at 5:30 at the Martha’s Vineyard Ice Arena in Oak Bluffs.The Martha’s Vineyard Film Center in Vineyard Haven has The Whistlers at 7:30 p.m.

Sunday, March 15 | Ponies & lobsters

Join the Vineyard Conservation Society at Misty Meadows Equine Learning Center for a Winter Walk & Ponies event from 10 a.m. to noon. Biologist Jelle Atema talks about The Secret Life of Lobsters at the Vineyard Haven library from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The Martha’s Vineyard Hebrew Center holds a special screening of 93Queen at 4 p.m. Cardboard Box has a Kitchen Takeover with chef Hal Ryerson of the seasonal Sweet Life Cafe. Edgartown Cinemas screens Parasite at 6:45 p.m.
