Island Time, Feb. 20-23: Wide-Open Weekend

February 21, 2020

School vacation starts Friday for Martha’s Vineyard families, many of whom will be heading off-Island as soon as they can get all the kids in the car. For the rest of us, it’s a wide-open Vineyard weekend with plenty to do by day and night. Here are a few suggestions for the days to come, and you can find everything that’s happening on the Island in the Complete Martha’s Vineyard Calendar.

At Pathways Arts in Chilmark, a double feature starts at 7 p.m. “Two Meditative Journeys, Sights and Sounds” begins with Valerie Sonnenthal’s presentation about her travels in Tibet and will be followed by Avian Improv, a photography and music show presented by photographer Lanny McDowell and pianist David Stanwood.

Musician Mike Benjamin plays at the Newes from America pub in Edgartown from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and D.J. Rickie Prime entertains at the Portuguese-American Club in Oak Bluffs starting at 8 p.m.
