If, to paraphrase a familiar bit of wit, your answer to “What are you making for Thanksgiving dinner?” is ‘reservations,’ the following restaurants on Martha’s Vineyard will have their doors wide open and a feast awaiting your arrival. (Though of course it would be smart to make reservations!) Though the menus follow a traditional theme, you can expect some delicious surprises as Island chefs put their own signature spin on the holiday meals they are creating. Start your holiday feast off with a warming tomato bisque at the Cardboard Box before moving on to a choice of scallops, pork belly or a salad of market greens. Turkey or  prime rib or salmon are next up as main courses , but be sure to leave room for the autumn-accented apple crisp, cranberry cheese cake or malted crème brulee for dessert. Four courses/$75/pp.

Vineyard Haven

Loosen your belt a notch and head over to the Black Dog’s Thanksgiving Buffet, replete with all the classics and then some! No need to make those hard holiday decisions, you can have your candied yams and sweet corn too!  The meal – from herb-roasted turkey to seasonal pies and desserts – comes complete with a harbor view. $45/pp; $20 for kids 12 and under.
