June 25: Chocolate, Sea Salt, Craft Beer—Your Choice
June 25, 2018
This week is the last full week before July, which means the Island is about to have a lot more residents (and lines, and traffic). The good news? We’re also about to have a lot more to do! Whether you need an activity after a morning of sunbathing on State Beach or need to narrow down your busy social calendar, here are five events you’ll want to do in the next five days.
1 Art Show: The Color Purple,Monday, June 25, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., Featherstone Center for the Arts.
Purple is the signature color of many things: royalty, Pantone’s 2018 Color of the Year, Martha’s Vineyard grapes. It’s also the color of Featherstone’s newest art show on display at the Art Barn, which you’ll want to carve out some time to see today.
2 Dock Dance, Tuesday, June 26, 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., Memorial Wharf.
Tuesday nights on Memorial Wharf with the Dock Dance Band are back – and we’ve been waiting all winter to show off our best dance moves on the pier. Listen to your favorite songs (Valerie included) and mingle with friends against the backdrop of Edgartown Harbor at sunset.
3 Wednesday Workshop: Martha’s Vineyard Sea Salt. Wednesday, June 27, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., The FARM Institute.
Your summer picnics, barbeques and porch parties will get a flavor boost after learning how to create personal salt blends with Heidi Feldman of Martha’s Vineyard Sea Salt. Head over to the Farm Inst
itute to learn all about the Island made product and take home your very own sample.
4 Cookbook Author Event & Tasting: Bennett Coffey and Kyleen Keenan.Wednesday, June 27, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Bunch of Grapes Bookstore.
If we knew indulging in chocolate every day could be healthy, we’d have started a long time ago. Now that we know, we’re joining Bennett Coffey and Kyleen Keenan to chat about (and taste!) recipes from their new cookbook and learn for ourselves how to incorporate more chocolate into our daily diets.
5Craft Beer Dinner Featuring 21st Amendment Brewery. Thursday, June 28, 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., p.m., Isola.
Tonight’s dinner at Isola is a four-course culinary experience, paired with craft beers from 21st Amendment Brewery. We’ll learn all about the brews from the brewery’s beer guru and chat about our favorite craft beers. We may even stay after dinner for the “Craft-ah Party,” and enjoy music and beer on tap for the rest of the evening.
