Environmental Conference Explores Coastal Impacts

Martha’s Vineyard – More than 100 scientists, environmental representatives, town officials and interested residents attended the third Martha’s Vineyard Coastal Conference held last week at the Edgartown’s Harbor View Hotel.

The daylong conference concentrated its attention on sea level rise, coastal erosion and increased storm frequency which keynote speaker Jeff Donnelly, a senior scientist at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, noted were already endangering coastal communities such as the Vineyard.
