African American Heritage Trail Welcomes Grace Church

Martha’s Vineyard  – A dedication ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 20 at 11:30 am making Grace Episcopal Church in Vineyard Haven the newest site on the African American Heritage Trail of Martha’s Vineyard.

The dedication will honor Rev. Absalom Jones, the first African American priest in the Episcopal Church, Right Rev. John Melville Burgess, first African American bishop in the Episcopal Church, and liturgical artist Allan Rohan Crite, who created a mural at the church.
