WT Explores Taxi Fare Solutions

Martha’s Vineyard – Long the subject of debate and confusion among customers, fares for taxi services may be standardized by the use of new taxi meter software being considered by selectmen in West Tisbury. The Martha’s Vineyard Taxi company has been testing the Taximeter in their cabs. Run from a tablet mounted inside the taxi the meter uses satellite GPS to track distance traveled and can be locked so meter settings stay consistent across different vehicles.
