The Week Ahead: Friday, December 29 ’17 through Thursday, January 4 ’18

December 29, 2017

Though Island typically takes a breather during this interim week between the winter holidays,  the bone chilling temperatures promised for the early days of 2018 only encourages our inclination to hunker down and hibernate. Of course, this caveat doesn’t include New Year’s Eve which is being celebrated, as it is every year, with all stops out and lots of options from which to choose.  The Harbor View Hotel will be holding its annual gala complete with ooh-and-aah worthy fireworks that’ll light the night sky and set the reflecting sea ablaze. Island restaurants ramp up for the holiday with exciting menus and champagne toasts.  Pubs and bars will rock in the New Year with live music or you favorite DJ. The remainder of the week brings us a number of opportunities to make good on some of those New Year’s resolutions that might include discovering a new talent, spending more quality time with our kids or becoming more involved in our community. However and where ever you are greeting the arrival of 2018, we wish you peace and prosperity, good health and happiness in the New Year!
