Vineyard Vibes
February 23, 2023
School vacation week is the perfect opportunity to hit up Island bookstores and libraries for a great read, a kids craft project, or even to see an art exhibit or a movie. Over the weekend, CLAMS (Cape Libraries Automated Materials Sharing) will be transitioning to a powerful new software system that will make finding and borrowing materials from any Island library even easier, starting Monday, Feb. 27. For a great primer on what all six libraries have to offer, read Library Island. (Please visit library websites for updated hours.)
Also, don’t forget that beginning on Monday and running through Friday, Mar. 3, free lunch will be available at the West Tisbury Public Library from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. thanks to the free Community Soup and Bread Lunchprogram.
Relax and enjoy the rest of this quiet week on the Vineyard with a few of our suggestions below. Or visit the The Complete Martha’s Vineyard Calendar for all events and activities.
It’s award season in Hollywood and the Martha’s Vineyard Film Society is offering moviegoers a chance to watch Oscar-nominated short films. Three evenings coming up feature the categories of animation, documentary and live action shorts. Check the links for specific screening dates and times, and head to the Film Center in Vineyard Haven.
