All Hands on Deck: Island Time, June 2

All Hands on Deck: Island Time, June 2

June 2, 2022

Memorial Day broke the spell — the month of June is free to let loose with music and dance, festivals and art. Boats have slipped into the water, baseball is back. Twilight stretches the long days out with gentle color (jackets required). Lean into June on the Vineyard with whatever makes your heart sing, whether it’s hiking or live music, street fairs or art shows. Be sure to check The Complete Martha’s Vineyard Calendar for regular updates.

First Friday, Vineyard Haven’s lively seasonal festival, features food and art vendors, live music, and a silent disco engineered by two DJ’s.  The event begins in Owen Park at 4 p.m. on (you guessed it) Friday (June 3).

Are your feet ready for the Annual Cross-Island Hike? The Land Bank’s annual observance of National Trails Day is marked by a day-long hike across the Island. This year it begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, at the Big (aka Jaws) Bridge on Beach Road. You can opt to hike only sections but be prepared for some rigorous terrain during any of the hike’s segments.
