April 27, 2018
Martha’s Vineyard – Following a vote, Oak Bluffs selectmen have permanently close East Chop Drive to vehicular traffic. A further restriction to ban bicycle and pedestrian traffic on part of the scenic roadway was rejected.
A three-year plan recently approved by the Martha’s Vineyard Commission to repair and stabilize the bluff has been developed by town engineers and the conservation commission. $17 to $20 million in funding is still being sought to pay for the project.
