Ancient stonewalls, rolling sheep-grazed meadows and breathtaking views to south shore beaches define the town of Chilmark. Menemsha is the township’s still-active fishing port and harbor, where (unusual on the east coast), the sun sets into the sea. Town administrative offices offer information on dockage, trash pick-up, building, shell fishing and other permitting.
