The Local Wild Food Challenge is a Culinary Competition and Festival in which you must forage, hunt, gather, farm, fish and trade for your wild ingredients.
Create a dish using at least one wild ingredient, your entry may be hot, cold, liquid, frozen, raw, marinated, smoked, seared, preserved… anything you feel like creating.
Our events are open to everyone, home cooks, fishermen, restaurants, caterers, hunter-gatherers, chefs and kids.
Workshops and live demonstrations… Bay Scallop shucking, fish filleting, deer breakdown, slow food foraging, deer tick awareness, Kombucha fermentation, artisinal beer tasting, bread making, natural farming, cooking demos and sea salt production, tasting table, food trucks, bar, live music.
Amazing prizes donated by generous community focused businesses and individuals.
Our Grand Prize is a trip to Italy for two people including airfare, accommodation for five days and wild food culinary excursions.
