An amazing week kicks off Martha’s Vineyard’s amazing month of August. Six out of our nine featured events this week are Island ‘classics’ ~ looked forward to year after year with anticipation and excitement by locals and visitors alike. From spinning sculptures out of sand to dreaming big dreams, from mega stars on stage and screen, the Week Ahead ensures that even if you have come to the Island for a low key lay-about on hammock or sand, you will still have the option to enjoy some great, entertainment, events and activities. “Flying Over Sunset”
Director and playwright James Lapine (Into The Woods), composer Tom Kitt (Next to Normal) and lyricist Michael Korie (Grey Gardens) return with their latest musical.
Saturday July 30
The MV Concert Series presents two great shows today: political commentator Amy Goodman speaks at the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown and Chadwick Stokes takes the stage with his activist-driven music at the Union Chapel in Oak Bluffs.
