Martha’s Vineyard – Entering its third season, renewed efforts to dredge Menemsha Channel are expected to begin around October 1 with H&L Dredging of Bay Shore, NY, taking over the Army Corps of Engineers project from J-Way Inc. of Avon, Ohio, whose contract was terminated in March after it was unable to complete dredging of the channel.
“We have good experiences with H&L completing projects of similar size and complexity,” Army Corps project manager Craig Martin told the Gazette this week. It is expected the project will take four to five weeks to finish.
