1 Trinity Park, Oak Bluffs, MA
Just on the other side of Circuit Ave., The Martha’s Vineyard Campmeeting Association Campground offers an oasis of calm. The colorful carpenter gothic ‘gingerbread’ cottages hark back to the 19th century when they were built to replace the revival meeting tents for some of the Island’s first wave of summer visitors. At the center of the ‘circle’ is the Tabernacle which hosts many summer events including Wednesday evening Community Sings, films, concerts and most notably, the yearly Illumination Night during which hundreds of lanterns are lit to illuminate surrounding the cottages. Lovely cottage gardens add to the charm of this historic portion of Oak Bluffs.
