Garrett James Cadwallader is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist and music producer. Born at home in Orient Point, Long Island, in a summer house owned by Sony Music Entertainment’s CEO, Doug Morris; Cadwallader attended McNally Smith College of Music in Saint Paul and SUNY Oneonta. In 2011 he ventured to Martha’s Vineyard, where he has continued to grow as an artist and earn recognition. He is best known for his viral promotional campaign, “Who is Garrett James?,” and as the lead singer and guitarist for Lets Tokyo. In 2009, Cadwallader opened for Grammy award winning artist Lupe Fiasco, and has performed extensively throughout the United States. He is also one of the founding members of Ithaca based electro rock group, Jimkata. Cadwallader released his first studio EP, “A New York Story,” with Lets Tokyo in 2010. In 2004, he opened 3rd Floor Productions, an independent recording studio located at the foothills of the Catskill mountains. He proceeded to operate the business under the name Crown Studios with co-founders and bandmates Stephen Baker and Scott Hunter until 2011. Recently, he was selected as a semi finalist in the International Songwriting Competition for his composition “Country Music Keeps On Truckin'”. Today, Garrett continues to write, produce and perform regularly, and is working towards creating his first full length record.
