Fresnel Lens to Remain in Edgartown

Martha’s Vineyard – Following a vote taken on June 21of this year, the Martha’s Vineyard Museum’s Board formally decided not to relocate the historic Fresnel lens to Aquinnah.
The  lens, which once sat atop the Gay Head Light was acquired by the Museum in 1952 and  is considered to be the centerpiece of its collection. Its current and future home remains atop a miniature brick lighthouse on the Museum’s Edgartown campus.
