This weeks Tuesday Writing Series at Pathways is dedicated to Readings of humorous short plays by the Peter H. Luce Play Readers group, directed and produced by Linda Comstock and Felicity Russell respectively.

Linda Comstock produces, directs and reads together with members of Peter H. Luce Play Readers, the award winning playwright Christopher Durang’s comedic short play, Actor’s Nightmare. It involves an accountant named George Spelvin who is mistaken for an actor’s understudy and forced to perform in a play for which he doesn’t know any of the lines. Durang is known for “works of outrageous and often absurd comedy.” His play, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike won the Tony Award for Best Play in 2013.

Felicity Russell directs and produces the reading of three short humorous plays: by Lauren Gunderson, the most widely produced current American playwright, two of her early short plays: Damsel and Distress Go To A Party, where girls chat while getting ready to go to a party. PrettyFace and KickSomeFuckingAssFace are two of their make-up options.

Two Pigeons Talk Politics – the title says it all.

Poof! by Lynn Nottage, winner of the Pullitzer Prize, a short play first produced in 1993. When a housewife comes to the end of her rope with her abusive husband, she now has a pile of ashes on the floor, an envious friend and an interesting problem to resolve as she reclaims her life.

The Peter H. Luce Play Readers: comprise of Linda Compstock, Felicity Russell, Sofia Anthony, Paul Doherty, Wayne Greenwell, Connie McCreery, and others.
