Though there aren’t any partridges, and you won’t spy a pear tree anywhere during Martha’s Vineyard’s Twelve Days of Christmas, we promise you won’t miss them at all. Instead, a dozen daily giveaways and a grand raffle of gift certificates from each participating Island business stand ready to celebrate the season.
The Vineyard Gazette and MVOL.com are playing Santa, giving away one gift certificate each day for each of the event’s twelve days. Click on mvol.com/contests and fill out the online form for a chance to win. Featured businesses change daily, and you are welcome to enter every day. Additionally, all participants will be automatically entered to win a collection of gifts from each of the twelve participating businesses at the end of the twelve days.
Get ready to deck the halls: Featured for Day 1 (December 5), is Donaroma’s – the nursery, landscaping and floral destination on Upper Main Street in Edgartown. As the gift card winner, shop for holiday décor, fragrant trees, or greenery.
‘Tis the season to be jolly: Featured on Day 2 (December 6) is Our Market, located on the harbor in Oak Bluffs, where you’ll find a great selection of wines, beers from around the world and a full range of spirits (Scrooge not included).
Holiday finery and things that bling: Featured on Day 3 (December 7) is Citrine, the gift shop on Main St., Vineyard Haven, that offers beautiful clothes and accessories to wear for holiday occasions or for just warming up on a long winter’s night.
Sweets for your sweetie: Sugar plums? Meh. But no holiday celebration would be complete without something sweet from Murdick’s Fudge, featured on Day 4 (December 8).
A fireside gathering—with grog: Always a good place to meet friends or enjoy a warming meal beside the blazing fire, The Newes on Kelley Street in Edgartown is the featured business on Day 5 (December 9).
Fun furniture and hidden treasures: From vintage furniture dressed in fabulous chalk paint to all kinds of unique gifts, Refabulous Décor on Union Street in Vineyard Haven, featured on Day 6 (December 10), offers both practical purchases and beautiful inspiration.
Five golden rings: For all that glitters and sparkles (not to mention exclusive Island-themed designs) CB Stark, the featured business on Day 7 (December 11), is the place for which ‘the best things come in small packages’ may have been coined.
A gift of history: Island-ophiles will be delighted with the books, games and toys, art, stationery, maps and more among the choices for the lucky winner on Day 8 (December 12), at the Martha’s Vineyard Museum. on School Street in Edgartown.
Clean and green: On Day 9 (December 13), the winner will nab a gift card to Lapels in Vineyard Haven, where 100% non-toxic cleaning for your holiday finery or winter woolies is available, as well as tailoring, leather cleaning and more.
